If you want to be successful in network marketing, you must answer this dead-serious question:

Are you embarrassed to be involved in the network marketing industry?

It’s critical to be honest because your answer has everything to do with the results (or lack thereof) you’ll achieve in your business.

Okay, so what’s your answer?

Are you unashamed to be a network marketer?

If so…bravo!

Read on and my mentor Ferny Ceballos will help you to earn the respect of your friends, family, and colleges who might think network marketing is beneath you, or that network marketing is nothing more than a scam.

20170608_210210However, if you are even a bit embarrassed to be associated with this industry, then you really need to digest and internalize what he’s about to share with you.

The good news is, with confidence, I can assure you that if you take action on what Ferny is about to reveal…

You will be proud of the network marketing industry!

I’m going to share a few possible solutions you can use if you’re suffering from embarrassment, or if you don’t want certain people in your life to know that you’re involved in one of those “MLM things.”

Luckily there are some very tangible and specific things that you can do to legitimize your business in the eyes of those around you, and ultimately, in the eyes of everyone in our society—no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

But first, I want to take you through my journey and show you how I earned the respect of those who absolutely hated and crapped all over my business.

If you don’t know my story, I had the awesome opportunity to go to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which is literally the number one school in the world as it relates to technology and science, and that’s where I earned my Bachelor’s degree.

And after I graduated from MIT, I went to work on top-secret space programs for the government.

So basically, I went to school, got good grades, attended the best university I could possibly go to, and then got a “good” job.

On the outside, it seemed like I had it made.

But obviously, that wasn’t the case.

I was miserable!

Can you relate to expectations not matching reality?

If you do everything “right,” your life is supposed to be set, right!?

People thought the world was my oyster, and I honestly couldn’t go any further from a prestige standpoint.

But I wasn’t happy, so I did something about it and joined a network marketing opportunity.

It was the ONLY thing anyone ever offered me to take me out of my “cubicle slave” situation, which I absolutely did not enjoy.

And there’s a really good chance you can relate to how this move was received by the people I cared for the most…

I got a lot of grief from my family

Which manifested in conversations that sounded an awful lot like this…

“What are you doing? Why are you selling vitamins? You’re an engineer and you work for the government, why are you doing this? You make good money and you’re giving that up for…this?”

But that’s not all, I also had the privilege of getting flack from some of the most brilliant people in the world via my friends and colleagues from MIT.

So then I was dealing with super-high I.Q.  crapping all over my new profession!

It was hard to refute their arguments, because they are extremely intelligent people, and they know how to argue.

In fact, a lot of them actually compete in debates!

But that’s what I had to overcome from a belief standpoint.

I wish I knew then what I know now…

Over the past 10 years in network marketing, I’ve met people who are former corporate executives, former small business owners, former medical scientists, former engineers, former pilots—just to name a few.

These people all had very prestigious and well-paying careers.

Which shouldn’t come as a surprise, honestly; it’s not like in network marketing we only have people that can’t get a “real” job or are uneducated.

No, we have many educated, sophisticated, and successful people already in this industry.

They obviously were are not happy with what they were doing, and they started looking for something their current professions couldn’t provide.

Case in point, I recently attended a workshop in Australia, with my friends Masa Cemazar and Miguel Montero, the “Pajama Bosses.”

Masa has a Ph.D. in medical science and was working in a lab doing incredible things as a geneticist.

Miguel was a commercial airline pilot.

These people left highly-respected, six-figure careers to join network marketing.

And you know what?

It’s pretty awesome to see such professionals, who have already earned the respect of their peers, joining network marketing.

Now let’s dive into my three-step process for dealing with the negativity from the people around you.

Starting with…

This is the ONLY thing I’ll discuss that’s in alignment with what most top earners in this industry teach regarding how to deal with negativity.

And you’ve probably heard all this before…

You must fortify your mindset. You must believe this can work for you…not that it can work, not that can work for some, not that it can work for others, but that it can work for YOU!

Well, it’s true.

You won’t follow through on projects you don’t believe in because everyone quits when they don’t believe they can actually do something.

Think of something BIG you’ve accomplished in your life—like going to school, attaining higher degrees, ambitious projects at work, or running a marathon.

You were able to achieve because you believed

Even though it was difficult, even though it was challenging, even though it was daunting, you accomplished it.

Basically, you committed to the fact that you could do it, and then you figured out “how” along the way.

And so, I absolutely agree you have to fortify your mindset and believe your network marketing opportunity is the real deal.

If you have any doubts, or you think…

“Well, I don’t know if people will buy my products, because they’re kind of expensive.”

…then you just killed your business.

If you have any doubts about your abilities or your compensation plan…

…then you won’t get far.

If you see people around you and you think…

“People were successful before, but, I don’t see a lot of people successful in my company now.”

…then you just sealed the deal on your future, as it relates to that business.

Which isn’t to say that every company is the same.

Sometimes these concerns are legitimate, but regardless, the result is the same…

You’re categorically sabotaging your success by having these doubts going through your mind.


You’ve got to be honest and realistic about what happens in the network marketing space—because it ain’t always pretty!

You’ve probably observed some shady practices in network marketing, and look, sometimes you’re going to run into situations like that.

Pyramid schemes and slimy business practices are real in this profession, as they are in any profession.

Look at Wall Street or real estate; people do unethical things ALL the time in those industries.

Yet it doesn’t make those industries illegitimate or illegal.

So we must be real and honest about what’s wrong in our space.

This is where I don’t agree with the “orthodoxy” of network marketing

Most leaders will condition you to label anyone with negative comments as “haters” or losers.

The same goes for society-at-large’s negative view of our profession as a whole—you’re conditioned to label nearly everyone as negative people who don’t “get it,” and to push them aside.

I completely disagree with this strategy.

Because I think it’s ignoring a REAL problem, and I prefer to view the negativity as a symptom of what we’re doing wrong as an industry, or what we can do better in our profession.

Look, the reason people view our space in a negative light is that somebody, at some point in the history of network marketing, did something frankly stupid that created a ripple effect—that’s the bottom line.

My stance is simple…

The network marketing profession needs to take responsibility for how it’s viewed by society

That’s the only way anything will change.

And the way I intend to take responsibility and do something about our poor image is to teach REAL business practices, which will actually help to legitimize this profession.

Because when you legitimize how you operate and operate like a real business, you not only are being realistic, you’re also going to fortify your mindset and get on the right track to elevate your friend’s and family’s opinion of your business.

Which brings me to step number three, which I feel is the most important…

The reason I built my business online using “21st-century tactics,” like social media, is because it legitimizes this profession.

The “old-school” methods of approaching everyone you know to try to get them into your business is NOT how a real business operates.

Allow me to repeat myself…

Approaching strangers, or people in a social setting, with a hidden agenda to get them into your business, is not how a real business operates!

That’s a fact.

Real businesses don’t do that.

Real businesses actually market and advertise their services!

And provide real solutions that help people solve their problems.

Makes sense, right?

So what does that mean?

Well, first and foremost, there’s a mindset component.

If you don’t have a real solution for people and the problems they’re experiencing in their lives, then they’re not going to be interested.

But if you do have something that helps people solve a problem that’s actually happening in their life, then they will likely be interested.

Whether it’s weight loss, health and wellness, fitness, financial planning and investing, insurance, beauty, and longevity—whatever!

The key is advertising to the right people, so you’re not trying to, as the saying goes…sell steak to a vegetarian.

If this sounds daunting, don’t worry—I’m going to make it real simple.

Here’s what I did…

I created a simple online advertising and lead generation system to collect the contact information of new prospects who specifically requested more information about what I happened to be selling at the time, which means I never had to talk to friends, family or strangers about my opportunity if I didn’t want to!

And sure, sometimes I will still prospect people offline because I see that I can provide them a solution, but I certainly don’t do it to everybody, and I don’t have a need to prospect everybody—I only do it when I actually want to HELP someone.

Imagine the power of that!

Don’t Drink the Profits!

May you think like a millionaire in 2018!

If you can, hang out with a millionaire in 2018.

If you can’t, read this story of the time when I hung out with a millionaire couple.

He was the grandson of a beer mogul.

She called the President of the United States Ronnie.

And it was interesting to observe them.

First, they didn’t dress to impress. His suits looked like they came off the rack – of Goodwill.

She carried the same purse every time I saw her.

antique-metal-vintage-metalIt was a metal lunch box like the one in the picture except that it was painted orange with floral decoration. I didn’t ask her about it. I wish I had.

I was not impressed with it.

I was impressed with the fact that she could carry a different designer purse every time she went out and didn’t. I wondered if it had been a gift from a grandchild or someone else who was dear to her.

I similarly wondered why her husband whose frame required the tailored suits he could afford, bought his like the rest of the population.

I hadn’t yet learned that millionaires don’t spend money the way people who dream of being a millionaire do.

I did have a respect for their not being flashy about their wealth. They were down to earth people.

She was so down to earth that when she went to Ronnie’s inauguration she came back with star-struck stories of the movie stars she shared an elevator with. She was impressed with who she rubbed elbows with and I thought that they should have been impressed with rubbing elbows with the woman who called the President of the United States Ronnie.

I don’t think that they thought much about money. They were involved in politics to make life better. They weren’t interested in wielding power or being famous.

But here is the story you and I need to take to heart.

Don’t drink the profits.

Remember, their money came from the production and sale of beer. One day mutual friends excitedly shared that they were opening a liquor store. I imagined that she would respond with enthusiastic encouragement. Instead, she said, “Don’t drink the profits.”

Don’t drink the profits. Did she think that they might be prone to overindulging?

I have thought about this over the years and this is what I think she really meant. Don’t spend your profits. Put them back into the business.

If you are going to be successful in starting a business. You can’t use the profits for personal wants or needs. Maybe for years, you are going to need to put that money back into the business.

Shortly after that, I lost contact with the millionaire couple and the new business couple. I don’t know whether she got a new purse, or he got a new suit, or the new business succeeded.

You and I don’t need to know.

We have this nugget of wisdom. Don’t drink the profits.

Don’t spend that commission on a new suit, or purse or even pay the bills. That is not what the profit is for in the beginning.

If you earned your commission from internet ads, increase your ad budget accordingly.

If you earned your commission from signing a distributor into your MLM, spend the money on personal development. And go teach your new distributor to do the same.

That is the mindset of a millionaire.

Before I even knew that my next profession in life would be network marketing the internet was beginning to make a key change in how we do business.

And I for one am glad. How about you?

My name is Connie Suarez and I am a network marketer.

I had enjoyed fifteen wonderful years as the director of a nonprofit ministry. I was blessed in many ways but not financially.

Then the time came to stay home with my mom and help her. Our goal is to keep her at home instead of a nursing home.

The same week I was making that decision, my daughter sent me a link to a video she wanted me to watch.

You know the routine. She had no way of knowing that I needed the business attached to the video or the product featured in the video. But she cared about me and invited me to watch.

A murder mystery has been solved!

The Internet did it!

With the Facebook dagger, the Internet over the past 10 years has slowly been pressing its sharp social blade into the very heart of ‘Old School’ Network Marketing and now it’s DEAD!

The scene of this murder???

Your Facebook News Feed!


LOL… Obviously, I’m having a little fun here.

But here’s what’s not so funny and I say this with all due respect to the legends of this profession:

Ignorance and fear are currently running amok among network marketing leaders.

In fact, I’m going to share an actual Facebook comment from an old-school leader, which demonstrates ignorance on how online marketing, and social media work and it’s impact on network marketing today.

The times, they are a-changin’

It’s no secret that Blockbuster Video used to be massively successful until they weren’t.

Now Netflix has taken over.

Taxi cabs used to be dominant, until they weren’t.

Now, ride-sharing (Uber/Lyft) has taken over.

Kodak, Dell, Motorola, Sears, Yahoo, Sony, Xerox, Blackberry… once dominant… no more.

What Getting Left Behind Looks Like…

Now, as I mentioned before, I’m going to show you a comment that created quite an uproar in our community.

And no, I won’t tell you the identity of this person; my goal is not to embarrass this individual.

The real lesson here is regarding WHAT he said and WHY it presents an issue for his business…and a lot of other people who are trying to keep it “old school” in a new school world.

The context is that one of our members was using the Promoted Post feature on Facebook a feature where you can pay a little money to Facebook to have targeted audiences see your business posts, resulting in lots of interested prospects reaching out when done right.

This post by one of our members showed up in this network marketing leader’s News Feed.

And he had no idea HOW this post was displaying there.

This was his comment…

“Not sure how this showed up on my Feed, but please take me off this. It gives my team the wrong info of what I teach them to be successful. And I know how to build solid teams. And it’s not by never meeting them, or never showing them that I care about their business. You will never replace person-to-person contact, and the people that get frustrated by that, are the ones not willing to serve their teams.”

Now, that is a pretty interesting comment.

We posted it in our community and those of us who are in the online space, and are building our businesses this way, had a little bit of fun “joshing” about it, but the whole point was to pinpoint a real problem…

Traditional network marketing is plagued by ignorance!

Now, don’t get me wrong, this person is not a bad person and traditional networkers aren’t either.

A lot of great & smart people make mistakes or have opinions borne out of ignorance and this comment is an example of that.

So, to make sure we are “hip” to the times, I want to share with you, first and foremost, how Facebook works.

Facebook 101: Why Facebook isn’t (just) a social network

A lot of people in the network marketing space don’t understand what Facebook actually is because Facebook is not just a social network.

In fact, the social aspect is second to what it actually IS, because Facebook doesn’t make money by being a social network, in and of itself.

Facebook is an advertising platform and that’s its primary product.

The ONLY way Facebook makes money is through advertising.

They refer to ad space as “inventory.” And what’s the inventory they’re talking about?

They’re talking about you and me — our news feeds to be more exact.

Their valuation is based on how many users they have, and their inventory is how many spots in our News Feeds & Sidebar they have to show ads in, (i.e. promoted posts).

Now, Facebook has a cool philosophy regarding their advertising and what they allow and don’t allow because they don’t want to ruin our experience.

But at the same time…

Facebook is a business

…and the ONLY product that they sell is advertising space.

And Facebook allows advertisers like me (and our members whom we teach this to) to target people (like you) on Facebook. It’s actually quite easy!

We are allowed to target just about anyone, according to your interests, personal profile information you willingly provided, who you follow, sites you’ve visited, etc.

In fact, in the Terms of Service, you gave up your rights to online privacy.

Thus, Facebook can track your behavior:

  • What you click on
  • What you buy
  • Who you like
  • What you watch

All that information is being tracked and can then be utilized by network marketers just like you, to target people, based on that data.

In essence…

You can target people based on their precise interests

So, as opposed to prospecting random people in public and hoping they’re interested in your opportunity, juice, or vitamins, or weight loss product…

You can specifically target people who are already interested in those things.

You can avoid the whole rejection BS all-together.

That also means Facebook allows me to target you, your downline, and in fact, target your entire company with training articles like what you’re reading right now.


And you may have noticed, especially if you’re in a traditional company, there’s likely lots attrition and reps constantly leaving, quitting and/or moving to other companies.

Maybe, even their disloyalty might piss you off!

However, it’s perhaps no surprise to those of us at Elite Marketing Pro doing online network marketing, that a few of the reasons people leave to other companies might be because those other companies may…

  • Be more progressive with regards to allowing distributors to use Internet strategies,
  • Have better systems for leveraging the Internet, and
  • Have better training for how to utilize the Internet to build.

And as I’ve said before, the best way to inoculate your team from being pulled away by other companies who are building online or having your team members go off on their own seeking online strategies to learn is to actually have strategy & training for building online.

Because here’s the thing about this “new frontier” of online network marketing…

It’s happening, whether you, your upline or your company like it or not

Everything I’ve shared above is basic facts about Facebook.

And if this leader, (who posted that comment and didn’t like seeing an ad in his News Feed) and has a “beef” with this…it’s frankly not with me… it’s with Facebook and the internet.

Because we are using what Facebook was specifically created for to our advantage – in order to build our businesses, whether it’s network marketing, direct sales, coaching, juice, vitamins, weight loss or whatever.

So if you want to shield your organization from any outside information, the ONLY option you have is to completely BAN the use of Facebook within your team and organization.

That is the ONLY option if you don’t want your team members discovering this new age of network marketing we teach here at Elite Marketing Pro.

Seriously, if you don’t want this information, which may contradict how you think businesses should be built, to reach your downline, then you need to require your organization to shut down their Facebook accounts forever and never go on the internet again.

That is the only option…and it’s not a great option.

Your only viable option is to adapt

The smart thing here would be to instead ask, “How does this happen?”

This guy should’ve asked…

“How does this show up in my News Feed?”

The next questions he should’ve asked are…

  • How can I use this new technology in my business?
  • How can I take advantage of this?
  • How can I use this opportunity to grow my business?
  • What can I do?
  • Who can I learn from?
  • Would incorporating some of these strategies help with my retention?

Network marketing seems to be the only industry, which ignores innovation and tries to pretend that it isn’t happening.

And, if you’re trying to do that as a leader, how did that work out for Blockbuster Video?

Companies & businesses go extinct when they don’t serve the needs of the modern era.

That is what’s happening in network marketing right now, and you have to be hip to it.

It’s about time leaders in this industry wake up

And ask themselves some serious and honest questions.

Again, good people are fighting these trends, just like the gentleman who wrote the above comment.

There are very smart, talented network marketers, who are choosing to make the wrong decision by ignoring what’s happening with technology today.

And networkers who are building online are crushing it, and they’re beginning to take over the industry because they offer a better product and that better product is not the opportunity or the juice, vitamins, weight loss plan, etc.

The REAL PRODUCTS are the methods leaders in that company are using to build the business online and their ability to train others in those methods and help them produce results.

“Either You Adapt and Provide Your Team with the Know-How to Build Online or They Will Find It Elsewhere…

Here’s a comment from a leader named Tim, a six-figure earner, that’s part of our community who heavily uses online strategies.

He made this point regarding the comment we’ve been discussing.

He says…

I’ll be the first to admit that I used to think like this guy. I was all driven by fear and ignorance. Like someone said above, you don’t know what you don’t know. This guy clearly doesn’t know. Again, doesn’t mean he’s a bad guy, he just doesn’t know. The idea that nothing replaces person-to-person is an old school, outdated mentality. What most of the ‘old schoolers’ won’t admit is how many people say “no” to this industry, and how many people quit, because it’s perceived as person-to-person. People are busy. Either you adapt and provide your team with the know-how to build online, or they will find it elsewhere, possibly, on a new team, or a new company.

That is wisdom from a true leader in the network marketing space.

Everything people hate about network marketing is a symptom of the real problem

For the first time, the Internet is providing us the opportunity to conduct ourselves in a professional way, protect our relationships, and do what REAL businesses do.

And what do real businesses do?

They advertise and create systems so that the business can grow on its own.

That’s the main point I’m driving at here…

For the first time, we have an opportunity, thanks to social media and thanks to the Internet, to conduct ourselves as professionals and avoid all the painful family issues, the rejection issues, people blocking you, ignoring you, or insulting you.

And in the process, we are IMPROVING the public’s heavily damaged view of network marketing.

Building Online is a Better Way and It’s Saving Your Relationships & Network Marketing at the Same Time

Up until recently, people in network marketing just accepted that broken relationships and painful experiences with family and strangers were just part of being successful. I say that’s BS.

Challenges will always be a part of the business, but we don’t need to unnecessarily create more problems for ourselves and that’s what traditional/old school network marketing has done.

But here’s the kicker, I didn’t even have to “recruit” them. They literally, picked up the phone, called me and asked me what I was involved in, cause they were looking for a new company and wanted to do whatever I was doing.


This article is gonna share with not only HOW I did it, but why ANY active network marketer would ever consider joining your team.

So here goes…

There’s only ONE reason an active network marketer, who’s currently in another company, will drop what they’re doing and “jump ship” to join you and your opportunity.

I’ve been getting this question a lot from our community members.

Usually in something like the following scenario…

Let’s say you’ve implemented the basics of attraction marketing (i.e. building your biz online).

Thus, you’re…

  • Generating leads
  • Talking to new prospects every day
  • Attracting a following on social media


No one is joining your team quite yet!

Now what?

Good question!

You might be asking, “How do I invite people into my primary opportunity…?”

  • “Should I get my prospects on video chat?”
  • “Host an online event?”
  • “Broadcast a Facebook Live?”
  • “Use a Facebook Group strategy?”
  • “Hop on a three-way call or three-way Messenger chat with my upline?”


“What should I specifically be doing to recruit my prospects into my team?”


Here’s the ONLY reason a networker will join you

And it’s this:

You must offer them a better way to build their business.

So there you have it—that’s the big “secret.”

Honestly, it all comes back to the fundamentals of attraction marketing.

Essentially, the reason people go online is that they’re struggling and looking for answers.

So if you’re currently building a following of other network marketers, you need to ask…

“What’s the biggest struggle people are having in their network marketing business?”

It always comes down to one of a few key issues…

  • They are tired of rejection from their friends and family
  • They don’t want to do home meetings anymore
  • Whatever their upline is telling them isn’t working

And that’s the big one:

The recruiting strategies they’ve been taught don’t work!

At least, that’s what they think, anyway.

And you have to meet people where they are at.

Even if what they are being asked to do can work (with practice), their belief is that…

“This doesn’t work!”

So again, the best way to get those leads to drop what they are doing and consider joining you is this…

Offer them a better way to build their business!

Specifically, a way to build, which alleviates all the struggles and problems they’re currently having.

And what’s the single biggest problem new distributors experience in network marketing?

Generating leads, of course!

So that’s square one: lead generation.

(Most don’t master this fundamental skill, unfortunately.)

Then, once you’re effectively generating leads, you must implement a recruiting process that transitions people from prospect to new distributor (or customer) in your business.

And then, once your prospects see your recruiting process in action (and that it works), that’s when they’re going to be willing and eager to join you.

And guess what?

They’ll know it’s working because it got them to join you!

After all, they just experienced the process first hand (when you recruited them), right?

Now, remember their problem:

How they’re being told to recruit isn’t working for them.


Your recruiting process is the solution to their problem. You’re not just trying to recruit people, you’re also showing them how they will be recruiting people and training new people.

So, whatever method you’re using to recruit people or bring new customers into your business, must be:

  • Effective
  • Duplicatable
  • Predictable
  • Systematized

In other words…

Your system must work!

(As opposed to the one they’re using, which isn’t working for them.)

In essence, everything you’ve learned in the online world about how to attract prospects, and how to have conversations with people, is step one.

Now, step two is to start them on a process that’s going to transition them into either becoming a customer or a new distributor.

For example…

Let’s say you want to be able to “present the plan” to a large group of people and have them take action right there…

Like you would at a big hotel meeting.

Well, online you would do with a webinar.

Similarly, strategically leveraging Facebook Groups can also be an effective recruiting tool for one-to-many communication and community-building.

Honestly, there are a lot of online strategies that work.

Ultimately, you must figure out what’s going to work best for your business.

Because at the end of the day…

People won’t join you unless you have a superior business-building system…

…which teaches them how to attract prospects and new recruits to their business.


As I mentioned before, lead generation is the first thing we teach here at Elite Marketing Pro.

Because again…

The best way to attract active network marketers is to have a better recruiting system

Once you have a better business-building system than they have in their current organization, they will jump at the opportunity to join you.

You just need a presentation that’s going to demonstrate how your recruiting system works, and why it’s superior to most of what’s out there.

Now, I wish this didn’t need to be said—but it does—so, just to be 100% clear:

I’m not encouraging you to poach, spam, or generally be “douchy.”

If you are somebody who’s trying to poach in other people’s Groups, that’s not cool.

Likewise, if you’re trying to blatantly spam other people’s Groups or News Feeds, that doesn’t work either.

Look, even if you do manage to recruit a few people using underhanded tactics, they’re going to leave your team as quickly as they left the last one because they’re just chasing another “shiny object.”

Spamming doesn’t attract great recruits and that’s not how you want to build your business.

In FACT, if you get good at building online – meaning creating an endless stream of prospects and have your recruiting process dialed in – you won’t ever need to ask other networkers to join you. They will see what you have and WANT to JOIN YOU!

This is not about RECRUITING OTHER NETWORKERS, as much as it is about attracting other networkers and leaders to YOU!

What are you passionate about?

If I was doing a video for my personal page I’d talk about health, and wellness, and fitness.

On my fan page, I’m not talking about my network marketing company, because that’s just not my intention.

I wanna talk to you guys, help you grow your network marketing business or home-based business.

You have to know your audience, and my target audience is entrepreneurs and business owners.

Now, here are 10 quick tips to maximize your Facebook Lives…

For me, I could send an e-mail out, if you’re on my e-mail list you’re gonna get like, “Hey, going live in 15 minutes, join me on my fan page.”

Or, if I’m on my fan page, I could just post a meme and say, “Hey, follow me at 12 o’clock, I’m going live.”

So that’s one way you could do it, let your audience know you’re going live.

If you’re on your personal page, just do a post.

“Hey, going live, I’m gonna be talking about five ways to reduce cellulite.”

Or, “How this one thing has changed my skin.”

So just whatever you’re gonna do, let them know.

So, right now I’m like flying through the feed, and some people are like, “Hey, who is this chick?”

And other people are like, “Oh, I know, that’s Julie! She’s sitting in her car with her sunglasses.”

The longer the stream the more viewers come in.

I usually keep my videos, to be honest, around five, 10 minutes.

Sometimes I’ve done 15, but that’s long for me.

My hashtags are usually…

#NetworkMarketing, #Entrepreneur, #HomeBasedOwner, #SixFigureMama, #Growth, #Inspiration, #Impact, etc.

You wanna think about the hashtags or phrases around what you are talking about.

And mainly it’s network marketing.

So, do some hashtags.

I mentioned sending an e-mail to your list if you have a list.

If you don’t have an e-mail list, you might wanna think about it, or a CRM for your business.

Because, God forbid, your company closed tomorrow.

What are you gonna do with your customers?

What are you gonna do with your people, how do you communicate with them?

How do you let them know where you’re going over to?

So, you wanna think about that.

And that was something that was brought to my attention a year ago, and that’s why I started an e-mail list last year, because, “Oh my goodness, what if something happened?”

Like, “How to…“

Starting a title with how to, that’s really good, ’cause that’s usually what’s searched.

So, my title for this video is, “How to Maximize your Facebook Live to Create More Engagement.”

Yours could be “How to Lose 10 Pounds in the Next 30 Days,” “How to Change Your Skin,” or “How to Ask Without Fear.”

I talk a lot about that in my Social Media Recruiting Frenzy guide… you definitely wanna create some sort of catchy headline.

Usually, I pop in, I introduce myself, I wanna know where you guys are watching in from, so I say, “Comment below.”

And then I kinda get right into the training.

I don’t want to stay on here for 45 minutes and waste your time, and I hope you could appreciate that.

Ask questions to encourage feedback.

I might say to you guys, on this Live, “Hey, so my tips so far, is this helping you? Is this helpful?”

Ask questions you want engagement throughout your video.

Shares are always great.

I always say, “sharing is caring,” so you definitely want people to share your content.

I followed these steps, I ask for engagement, I ask for people to share.

People don’t know I’m here and I’m giving these tips unless you guys share with fellow entrepreneurs, or network marketers, or home-based owners.

Always ask for shares.

Now, do I?

No, I don’t.

I probably do a Live four times a week, and I do them at separate times.

But if you could do them consistently three or four times a week, the point is to just be consistent.

When I did those videos every day for 30 days, I was consistent.

Even though I couldn’t get on at eight o’clock in the morning, I did it every day, and people knew that I was there, because I was telling them, “Click on my face in the top right corner, and make sure that you’re subscribed so you catch my live videos.”

You want to do the same thing.

You can educate, entertain, and empower in a Live.

Do I do all three?

No, I don’t, so don’t freak out about it.

I really like getting out here and giving you guys the content that you need, but of course, I like to have fun.

Who doesn’t like to have fun?

Find a way to put your personality into it.

Like, I’m a real person, people know me, they know I’m straightforward, and you just want to be that person.

I don’t need to do a video just to do a video; I want to bring you guys value.

Do the same for your audience as well.

Link to something; a blog article, your product page, do it!

I take you through my in-depth system of how to connect passively and actively, and how to build out a fan page and branding.

If you want to check it out, cool, no big deal.

Same as you, you want to let your people know that you’re linking to whatever it is that you’re talking about.

Like, share, comment.

“Make sure you like, comment, and share if you found value in this,” that’s all you have to say.

I send people to my website.

If you don’t have a website, don’t worry about it.

If you’re just giving value around your product…

Don’t say your product name!

You could simply say…

  • “Hey, if you found value in this, let me know…”
  • “If you want to know more about the product I was just talking about…”
  • “If you wanna know more about what has helped me get the weight off…”
  • “If you wanna know more about what helped my child when he had eczema…”

…or whatever it is.

Okay, that’s it!

Those are my 10 simple tips to maximizing the number of people watching your Lives.

It probably did.

Some of the structures built by homesteaders here in Colorado didn’t.

There was a very clear idea in her head.

Well, she cooked with a wood stove. At bedtime, she would open the oven door and kitchen door to help cool off the house. Then in the morning, she would close the oven door and start a fire in the stove, so she could bake the biscuits.

One morning she opened the oven door to put the biscuits in and there coiled in the middle of the oven was a well-baked rattlesnake that had apparently slithered into Grandma’s kitchen and oven overnight.animal-1298872_1280


Grandma marched out to the corral and shoved the pan of unbaked biscuits under Grandpa’s nose and said, “That is how you will be getting your biscuits until I get a screen door.”

Grandma got her screen door not because a rattlesnake had an untimely end but because she had a plan and she used every circumstance in her life to further her plan.

So, do you have a plan for your business? A plan that is so strong it will not be derailed by life’s circumstances.

You need a tool to create your business plan. An architect has a tool to create his blueprint. An architect uses software. You need a goal setting worksheet.

And architect has a contractor to make sure that the blueprint is carried out. You need someone to keep you on track, to help you believe in yourself, to help you not set yourself up for failure. You need a coach.

Just ask yourself. How has that worked in the past? If it works, great!

If it hasn’t worked you need a paid coach. And I believe that you need to pay more than you are comfortable paying.

What that amount is will vary from person to person.

How You Can Gain More from Listening

Do you agree with the quote, “If you make listening and observations your occupation, you will gain much more than you can by talk?”

I think we all would agree with Robert Baden Powell in theory. But in practice, I fall miserably short. I confess I love to talk too much.

How about you

Are you thinking about what you want to say when the other person is talking?

Do you find yourself wanting to finish the other person’s sentence?

When the other person is talking are you empathizing with them (feeling what they are feeling)?

I am right there with you. Even though I taught volunteers at a nonprofit how to listen for 15 years and now I have written The Intentional Recruiter: Five Listening Skills for Highly Effective Recruiting I have to confess I still need to discipline my self in those skills.

Is it worth it?

An article in says it is. They list five benefits of listening in the workplace. I agree that listening will benefit you in your workplace, your business, your relationships.

Among the benefits that they claim can be yours are:

Mutual Trust – you want to establish trust with those you are in contact with, don’t you? Whether it is an employer, a spouse, a prospect, you need for them to trust you. And you need to be able to trust them.

Confidence – as an effective listener you will grow in your self-esteem and self-image. That is sort of counter-intuitive. We tend to think that we have to impress people with what we say. Which reminds me of an old joke. Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Productivity – because we understand problems as we listen effectively we are better problem solvers!

Cooler heads prevail – when there is human interaction there are human misunderstandings unless you are listening well. Then there will be less misunderstanding, to begin with. Which will lead to:

Fewer mistakes – people who are working together in mutual trust and understanding will make fewer mistakes.

3 Easy Habits for Greater Life Success

We’re all after success, though it will look different to each of us.

Your vision of success may even change on a day-to-day basis. Your goals and outcomes are fluid and variable, but there are a few habits which can apply to anyone, for any goal, anytime.

Forming helpful habits can transform your life, even (maybe especially) when the habits take only a few minutes. What you do every day matters quite a bit more than what you do only some days. So what should you be doing today?


1. Wake Up Earlier

It doesn’t sound all that appealing, we know. But adjusting your morning alarm can have serious benefits for your mood, productivity, and goal achievement. How much earlier you wake is up to you, but give it a try tomorrow.

Set your alarm 5, 10, maybe 15 minutes early and see where you go from there. You can keep everything else in your routine the same, or you can designate those extra minutes for something like meditation, planning, reading, or inspiration. It’s a great way to take control of your day from the first second.

2. Intentionally Prioritize

“The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.” – Stephen Covey

now-1272358_1280Make it a habit to prioritize your day. Whether this means a planner, to do list, sticky note, or simply verbally prioritizing items in your day, it’s critical that you make it absolutely clear what items or tasks are most important to you for that day.

Successful people don’t lose time on things that don’t matter or get caught up in meaningless tasks. Successful people know exactly what their most important priority is, each and every day. Find a way to intentionally prioritize each day and you’ll find success.

3. Take Breaks

“There is virtue in work and there is virtue in rest. Use both and overlook neither.” – Alan Cohen

For many of us, it’s habit to keep plugging away at something until it’s done. That can be snow-2952307_1920effective, but it can also wear us down and force mistakes. Successful people learn how to build breaks into their schedule.

Set timers or alarms to remind you to take breaks as you work. Stop to stretch, get a glass of water, chat with a friend, or listen to some music. You’ll return with a clear head and renewed purpose for your work.

You can increase your productivity and success by starting with just one of these habits today. Practice it as best you can, and then slowly add more habits as you master them.

Self-improvement habits are well worth the effort, and you’ll reap the benefits of success.

Do you take work home or do you work from home?

I had an aha moment as I walked Max this morning.

We were passing through the parking lot of a bank. I saw an acquaintance leaving the back entrance with a file folder in her hand.

I got this tight feeling as I remembered running back to the office for something I needed to complete the project I had taken home.

I asked her in a sympathetic tone if she was taking work home. She said no she just had to make some copies. I said I was glad for her, but I was feeling glad those days were behind me.

Then I wondered at the fact that I work from home and yet was sympathizing with someone who had to take work home. Wasn’t that sort of the same thing?

My response was immediate. NO!

It is different. I work from home that is true. But I enjoy what I do. I get to make it fit my schedule. And I am building my dream not someone else’s dream.

If you are still working towards working from home.

If you are struggling to build your business in your very spare time, be encouraged. It is worth all the hard work!

Work as hard as you can consistently. A little bit every day is more effective than working in spurts. The day is coming when you will be working from home.
